Roses are red

Rose extracts are used throughout the health and beauty industry, either as an edible extract put into herbal pills and medicine or as an extract blended in various skin products. Rose Flower Oil is the extract of the fruit found on various species of wild roses. It has been used as food flavouring and in skin products for many centuries and its properties lend themselves to skincare very well. Violets are blue

The Common Blue Violet (Viola sororia) is perhaps the most recognisable blue violet and historically it was used for food and medicine; the Cherokee Indians used the flower to treat ailments like headaches and colds. Now, whilst violets may be famous for being blue in the familiar folk poem used on Valentine’s Day they aren’t the only blue flowers out there. One of these blue flowers is the cornflower (centaurea cyanus) which is used in everything from tea blends to antiseptic solutions for eye infections, not to mention as a natural, alcohol-free toner.
